Some days you just wish you could escape to a luxurious spa where you would change into matching thick soft and fluffy robe and slippers and where you would be welcomed by a wonderfully comforting cup of fresh ginger tea, don’t you?
Well I cannot grant you this wish, however I can give you a wonderfully comforting ginger tea recipe, which will make your senses travel to an amazing spa on the other side of the world, interested? Yes I thought you may be 😉
Besides, not only this tea is comforting but considering the health benefits of ginger, honey and black tea it may well be that little extra you need to fight the cold.
So without further do, please find below this ginger and honey recipe.
A wonderfully comforting ginger tea recipe, which will make your senses travel to an amazing spa on the other side of the world.
- 1 mug boiling water
- 1 tea bag black tea (e.g. English breakfast)
- 3 to 4 thin slices ginger root (1mm thin)
- 1 tsp honey (I love acacia honey)
Add the black tea bag to your mug of boiling water and leave it there just enough time to create a beautiful colour.
Add the slices of ginger root to your mug and the generous teaspoon of honey. Combine and enjoy 😉
You could make variations of this beautiful tea by adding fresh lemon juice, fresh lime juice or even lemongrass.
This is more of an adult recipe. I would not serve it to children below 1 year old because of the presence of honey and I would use decaffeinated black tea for children.
